New Jersey’s Old Bridge Township Raceway Park (aka Englishtown) to cease quarter mile and eighth mile drag racing operations effective immediately.

Seems odd that they would only end drag racing operations, arguably their biggest draw and the thing they’re most known for.

Yup, just saw this. Another one bites the dust, Atco is all that’s left in the tri-state now. Really hoping a strip will open up on LI but that’s a long hard battle.

Did Island Dragway close too? There is always Lebanon Valley; a bit of a haul from Long Island, but better than nothing (or Maple Grove)

Well, hot damn. I didn’t even know that place existed. I’ve been to Atco and Maple Grove, never got up to Lebanon Valley though I should have when I was upstate for college.

Damn, this is a huge surprise. Having seen many different drag racing and car/truck events there growing up, this is sad. Plus, now Atco is going to get really crowded.

Something is up between the Napps and the NHRA. My guess is that this isn’t quite over yet.

What about the road course... that place is where I did the one track day. Would be a shame to lose that; it was cheap and a short track, so it’s easy on the consumables.
